The Redesign Continues: Updating the Footer
Things are starting to shape here at TechTraction. Sidebars make more sense, header image conveys the right message, and a slight Google ad problem was corrected. Now I’ve focused my attention on the “footer” section .
The footer section previously repeated the menu bar that appeared below my original header image. As you can see, I’ve removed the menu bar in favor of Google ads and moved the old menu options to the “pages” section in my first sidebar. Repeating the menu bar in the footer is a popular design choice for some web sites, and makes sense for some blogs; however, for TechTraction it provided little value. I decided, instead, to go with a standard copyright announcement, powered by WordPress statement, design credit, and another Google ad.
There wasn’t much to do with the footer other than to bring it inline with the rest of the site. Removing the old menu options was the obvious change. After that, my options were limited. Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
