For the same reason, I have UBUTNU as my 2nd Operating system but perhaps I can test all functionality on windows. I am going to download WAMP so I hope everything would go fine according to your post.

Bret, this is good advice for a development server. I've always had a spare computer with Linux installed to test my changes before going live.

Since many days, I have been searching for wordpress themes with more than one column of content but I failed. There are many 2-- column themes out there but they don't have option to put content in more than one column. Anyways that is another issue. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks for Installing WAMP. I have designed my own theme having posts in matrix style in more than one column. WAMP works fine with windows.

Failing to post on a consistent basis is better than posting stuff when you don't really have anything to say IMO.

Hi Leonardo, sorry for the delayed response. To answer your question -- most scripts you want to test for a Linux/Unix environment could be tested on a wamp server; however, you might need to adjust any references you make to specific directories because of the difference between Linux and Windows. More specifically Windows usually starts a directory path with a drive letter while Linux/Unix doesn't. Also, scripts for Linux/Unix can tap into various environment variables that don't exist in Windows. Just keep those differences in mind and you should be okay with testing scripts for Linux/Unix on a wamp server installation.

Your post is not less than a gift from angels because I was just planning to install Linux on my system top run and test many popular scripts who needs me serious attention. I just want to conform that if all those scripts which need that Linux environment would work with windows?
