TechTraction’s Friday Finds for 06/22/07 – Test Everything
In an effort to post on TechTraction with greater consistency, I’ve concocted the idea of “Friday Finds.” A weekly category where I’ll quickly post about an interesting blog entry, web site, or other point of interest I found on the Internet over the past week. Also, since I like to give credit where credit is due, and throw some traffic over to people providing useful content, I will enable or disable comments/pingbacks/trackbacks on these Friday Finds dependent on the nature of my “Find.” Enjoy.
The First of Many Friday Finds — “Test Everything”
Curious about various aspects of your web site such as who links to you, keyword density, or how your site is seen by Yahoo Site Explorer? There is a seemingly never ending list of things that can help check and validate your site with respect to the rest of the net. The problem is that with so many options for site checking and validation, it’s hard to know where to start — or even what’s available out there. “Test Everything” addresses this problem with a one-stop-shopping approach by making all of these web resources accessible from one location. I found out about this particular resource from Daniel Scocco’s excellent blog site Daily Blog Tips (a personal favorite of mine which I visit on a regular basis).
My Thoughts on “Test Everything”
I gave Test Everything a quick “test run.” I selected a few simple SEO options and tried to kick it off and quickly found that it prefers Microsoft Internet Explorer. “Test Everything” claims there is a way to make it work with FireFox, but you need to install the Linky plugin. I didn’t bother with the plugin and decided to just test it with I.E.
It’s not the most intuitive service I’ve ever seen, but it does work. And since it brings so many resources together in one location, I’d say it’s definitely worth a look.
