Coming Soon: SubScribe to Comments Plug-in Fix for WordPress 2.2.1

I absolutely love the Subscribe to Comments plug-in from Mark Jaquith. The plug-in allows visitors leaving comments to subscribe to all future comments for a particular post, which is kind of like a post specific RSS feed.

I first saw the plug-in in action over at Ben Yoskovitz’s “Instigator Blog.” I was so impressed with the plug-in’s functionality that I immediately downloaded it and quickly installed it here on TechTraction. Unfortunately, according to the plug-in’s author, Mark Jaquith, WordPress 2.2.1 has a bug which causes the “subscribe to comments” text next to the checkbox to not appear. I’m happy to say that on July 5th, 2007 Mark acknowledged the problem in the comment thread for the plug-in and noted that he planned to release an update to resolve this problem. Therefore, if you’re experiencing a problem with the Subscribe to Comments plug-in since a recent upgrade, or new installation, of WordPress, then make sure to keep your eye on the Subscribe to Comments section of Mark’s web site for updates on the pending fix.
