Since I started building a few custom WordPress themes, I’ve been making frequent trips to the documentation section of the WordPress site. And even though I have bookmarked these pages for quick reference, I wish there was a condensed version of these page I could print and tape to my office wall. Well, thanks […]

Last week I wrote about a simple tweak you could insert into the main “while post loop” of your theme’s index.php file. The tweak outlined simple steps for adding a counter to the primary display loop in order to insert a conditional “if statement” which helped determine whether to display the full post or […]

I read Daily Blog Tips on a routine basis (not daily but almost), and almost always find great tips to help improve my blog. One recent post that I think was absolutely fantastic was Daniel’s 7 points to consider before blogging for money. If you missed this post, it is a “must read” regardless of […]

I signed up for Commission Junction and Share-a-Sale […]

Since being on vacation a little over a week, I’ve been spending some of my free time working on my new design for TechTraction. I’m a little obsessed with making that all important “first impression.” Therefore, I’ve been tweaking nearly every little aspect of the site design; however, I haven’t forgotten one of the […]

Several weeks back I wrote a short series of articles outlining how to use a Wamp (Windows, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) Server installation to create a WordPress staging and development environment. In that series I explained how to install a Wamp Server, how to install WordPress on that server, and then how to take […]

Blog communities sites such as MyBlogLog and Bumpzee have really helped TechTraction gain more exposure. Based on various sources of traffic sites for my site I can see that these sites do attract readers. And since these community sites have helped generate traffic, I started to wonder if Facebook could do the same.

In my opinion, the comment section beneath a post is where the interactive discussion between reader and author takes place. Sometimes the discussion takes place just between the readers, and sometimes the discussion inspires subsequent discussions at other blogs. Typically those types of “launch points” appear in the discussion thread in the form […]
