Thanks for your personal impressions of the Kindle. I agree, if the price of e-Books dropped to the $2.99 – $3.99 range, the Kindle (and maybe even the Sony eReader) would just take off. I’d love to see schools adopt the Kindle or Sony eReader as a replacement for the required stack of books my kids have to carry to school. That would help make a serious impact on the popularity of an ebook reader.

As it turns out the books are fairly cheap, I don’t think any of them retail for more than $10. What I’d like to see is them approach the $2.99 to $3.99 mark. At that point, it’s a really negligible cost. As it is, it’s cheap enough to where I’ve been buying a lot of my books for the Kindle, it’s nice to have access to them wherever. The only thing I miss is a backlight. It’s weird attaching a book light to a basically electronic pad.

Still all in all a great product, I love my kindle.
