Friday Finds for 2/1/2008: Print Media is Doomed

The Internet, as I like to call it, is the great equalizer. What was once only accessible to large corporations became available to the average person through the Internet. Monopolies created and maintained by big business have started to crumble with the help of the Internet. Examples of the Internet as the great equalizer abound. Despite the abundance of equalization examples some businesses just don’t get it. I might even go so far as to say that if you’re in the trenches doing “the work” then you’re completely aware of the pure power to change possessed by the Internet; however, if you’re an executive “decision maker”, you’re completely clueless.

For another great example of “decision makers” from big business making all the wrong moves, you’ve got to check out Don MacAskill’s (SmugBlog) post about why traditional print media is doomed. It’s an entertain well written commentary on the mistakes of traditional print media.
