UStream Design Change is Cutting Off Some Show’s Custom Header Image
The popular free webcasting stream service, UStream, recently made some design changes to their web site. If you have an account, and added your own custom header image to your show page, then take a closer look at your page. Since the update, some header images are getting cut off.
968px too much for your Ustream show page
If you log into your Ustream account, follow the link to “My Shows,” and click on the “Design” tab, you’ll notice that the second option on the page (upload a header image) indicates that the image has a fixed width of 968px. In the original site design that setting was correct. Upload load an image no larger than 968px and it displayed perfectly at the top of your show page. Since the redesign, however, an image set to 968px loses about 30px from the far right.
Reduce the width for a quick fix
To correct the problem I reduced my header image down to 930px and it fits almost perfectly. I could tweak the pixel width a little more, but happy with the way it currently fits. If you need to reduce the size of your header image for UStream, I suggest you try for something between 930px to 934px because I believe my final image width could have been a little larger.
