Friday Finds for 08/08/2008 - Tools for the Family Computer Expert
If you’re lucky enough to have earned the title of “Computer Expert” in your home (and for your extended family and friends), then you’ve been called more than once to solve someone’s bizarre computer problem. Success with such problems was determined by your base computer knowledge, experience with similar problems, and sheer luck. Of course, it also doesn’t hurt to have access to some useful utilities, and you can find a nice list of such tools at KillerTechTips.com. The list might seem obvious to some, but I’m confident there is at least one item on this list you don’t have in your arsenal of troubleshooting tools. I recommend all “Computer Experts” take a look at this list.

I think the features you needed in the new Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit. With it, you can customize restrictions on individual Windows accounts including blocking access to programs, blocking access to your Web browser, keeping sensitive files private, and blocking access to Control Panel, Internet Options, and the Registry.
